There is something for everyone at the Museums in Veszprém

Combine your city tour with a visit to a museum

If we want to get to know the city of Veszprém properly, we should also visit the city's museums. Of course, it is not possible to visit all of them at once, because that would take a lot of time. During our guided tours, however, you will have the opportunity to visit one or more exhibitions or museums in the castle.

Here in the menu you will find the city's range of museums.

Why visit the museum with a tour guide?

The number of museums in Veszprém is large, but when we ask tourists how many they have visited, the answer is often disappointing. Many are not interested in a cultural programme of this kind. Most find exhibitions boring and simply walk past the castle's museums.

This is a shame, because Veszprém has museums with a wide variety of themes and many of the monuments and sights can be visited from the inside. Accompanied by a local tour guide, it becomes even more exciting!

For many, a museum is just a series of objects on display. But visit the museum with an expert tour guide and it's something completely different. The tour guide fills the objects with meaning, you learn stories and other interesting facts. The museum visit is organised systematically - depending on your interests and the time available. The most important museum artefacts are selected and presented.

What museums are there in Veszprém?

As in most cities, Veszprém also has a museum dedicated to the city's history. But the Lackó Dezső Museum offers much more! The 1000-year history of the surrounding area is also presented and the most interesting topics are explored in the constantly changing temporary exhibitions.

If you are more interested in religious and sacred topics, you should visit the ecclesiastical museums in the castle. There you can learn a lot about the ecclesiastical history of Hungary.

The castle's galleries house modern and contemporary art exhibitions, such as the collection of László Vass or László Károly. The Tegulárium, a brick exhibition, is a real speciality and definitely worth a visit!
